Confusion Shall Depart!

[Tuesday, June 19]

“Even now all confusion shall depart from your heart and mind so that you are no longer perplexed by what to do. For the chaos that has come by way of human reasoning shall come to rest. And written over your head this day is the word stability.”

Prophetic Scripture:

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace… (1 Corinthians 14:33).

The word confusion in the New Testament means instability. It speaks of being in a state of disorder, where the natural ability to act according to sound judgment is compromised or rendered inoperative. Typically, we see a state of confusion settle in when human reasoning takes a front seat ahead of God’s wisdom. One example is conflict resolution between two people. The human psyche is very complex. Volumes have been written to teach human psychology, and while this is helpful it has limits. We can only delve so far into the intricacies of the human mind and heart. Because we are created in God’s image, we are complex beings. I often wondered why the Bible doesn’t spend more time teaching us the psychology behind human behavior to help
us better work through our differences with each other. I believe it’s because God’s knows that the depths of the human heart and mind can never be fully figured out. That method can only solve some things and when focused upon too much it creates confusion. Instead, we can override confusion by simply obeying God even when it seems ineffective to do so. For example, sometimes it means keeping quiet when it feels more reasonable to make your point. Remember, God is not the author of confusion, and when we keep Him involved things will stabilize and all confusion will depart!

Heavenly Father, I thank You that every form of confusion must come to rest and depart from my life. I declare that I live in stability and peace, and that You are solving every situation with supernatural wisdom. Amen.
